We're owned and operated out of Alexandria, Virginia and are your dedicated glass pickup service, committed to recycling all types of glass.
Our mission is to ensure sustainable recycling practices while supporting local charities. Join us in promoting eco-friendly habits and making a positive impact on our community!

Yellow Dog Recycling is proud to donate 5% of each pickup to local Alexandria based charities. Customers are able to select which charity they would like their donation to go to.

WHY RECYCLE?
Since January 2020, the City of Alexandria no longer recycles glass. If you have been placing your glass in your Recycling or Trash can, it has simply been trashed, adding to our landfills and not recycled.
Glass produced from recycled glass reduces related air pollution by 20% and related water pollution by 50%. Additionally, glass is one of the only packaging materials that can be infinitely recycled in a closed, bottle-to-bottle loop.

Glass that is recycled through Yellow Dog Glass Recycling is recycled into new glass bottles or crushed into gravel or sand which is used in public works projects.
Sign-Up
Choose the frequency (Bi-weekly is our most popular) that works best for you. Our bins are 14 Gallons (20"d x 15" w and 14" h) and we'll drop your bin off after you enroll.

FAQs
I signed up. Now what?
First, thanks for signing up and helping the environment!

Once you sign up, you'll receive a text or email confirming your subscription and we'll drop off your bin in the next 72 hours.​ After you have your bin, your first pick up will be approximately 1 week after your signed up. Don't worry, we'll send you a text a day before your scheduled pick up to remind you to put your bin on the curb.
What if I need an additional pick up in between my scheduled pick ups?
We get it, there are holidays, parties and many other events which may cause you to need an off schedule pick up.

If so, just send us a request and we'll work to schedule an off schedule pick up.
How does billing work and when do I get charged?
After you purchase your subscription, we'll charge your card the day before your first pick up and then will continue to charge the day before your following pick ups (either bi-weekly or monthly).
What happens if I need to skip a pick up or I forget to put my bin out?
Even people who recycle go on vacation, have a work trip or just plain old forget! We're human and we understand.

If you need to skip a pick up, please let us know AT LEAST 24 hours prior so we are aware. If you forget to put your bin out, we'll give you a pass for the first missed pick up, but after the first one we will need to charge for the missed pick up.
